Our Mission
For over 35 years, our beliefs have remained the same: people with disabilities should be given every opportunity to be contributing and productive members of the community.
Guided by Jesus’ example of love and compassion, TrueNorth supports individuals who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities so that all – employees and people served – are treated with dignity and respect, feel a sense of belonging, see their abilities valued, and experience personal growth.

Guiding Principles
Independence
We encourage the living skills necessary to achieve success in daily life by consistently modeling the personal traits of responsibility, honesty, and integrity. We believe it is our role to foster a sense of self-worth and self-confidence so that all may live and work in the community as independently as possible.
Interdependence
We promote safe, loving family environments where individual personalities and gifts are appreciated, where needs are accepted and met with compassion, and where friendships are cherished.
Personal Fulfillment
We believe that all people are capable of personal growth throughout their lives. To that end, all are encouraged to contribute to their communities, nurture their dreams, and live to their fullest potential.

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.
Social Justice Statement
TrueNorth pledges to stand against social injustices. We stand firm in our Mission and the belief that all individuals- residents, employees, and members of our communities near and far, are created in God’s image and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.
We believe all people are valuable and worthy of equitable treatment and access to the same rights as anyone else regardless of race, faith, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or level of ability.
At TrueNorth:
- We listen to understand.
- We advocate and collaborate with you to speak up against the injustices and inequities faced.
- We do not allow fear, systemic racism or discrimination to guide the services we provide or influence how we treat each other.
